URBAN BACHELOR MASTER SUITE

The master bedroom and bath were a simple update.

The client wanted clean, simple and masculine.  One challenge in the bedroom, which eventually became the main design detail, is that an off-centered window to an outdoor hallway or main space, was covered by a custom-built grid wall.  This gave the room privacy, symmetry, and an extra bit of weight to the headboard wall.  It also created some architectural interest to an otherwise simple room.

In the bathroom, the original shower tile was kept to save on cost, but a new tile surround was applied to the shower doorway and a frosted glass door installed to give the shower an update without an overhaul.  A mosaic was added behind the new freestanding vanity.  New tile flooring was also put down to give the space a new, clean energy.  Opposite the vanity, a dining table top was used, not only as an art piece to fill a blank wall, but also as a great structure to hold hooks and bars for towels.  It only took a few simple, cost-effective changes to update these spaces.
